My First Marathon

I wake up at around 4:30 in the dawn of July 6th and my baby was starting to make his ritual by sucking on his feeding bottle. It is also my time to get up and prepare for my first marathon ever. As in, this will be my first run in this running event: the 32nd Milo Marathon sponsored by Milo-Nestle Philippines.

And my category, 5K or 5 Kilometers. The assembling place or the starting line will be in the Freedom Grandstand in downtown Iloilo City and the time for us to be inside of the fence is 6:00 in the morning. There are almost 7,000 runners that being registered and I feel so lucky to be one of them. This is history in the making for myself. Hahaha...

I have my first run as to compare with my father's dozen of running events. That is too far really but I guess I can match him with that. I guess.

My first time isn't that bad at all. Having finished the event with a time of 42 minutes is an accomplishment in my part...Ha, I beat my "papa" he has his time of 45 minutes....I am ahead of him....in the same event of 5K.

I need some re-conditioning and training in preparation for this events. I made this as a habit for myself to enter and join again this fantastic event. This is a experience to be noted in the books of my life.

By the way, I am running together with local public officials such as the Congressman of the lone district of Iloilo Raul Gonzalez Jr., Councilor Nielex Tupas, and the Vice-Mayor of the Municipality of Oton Niel Olivares to name a few.

I am hoping that there will be a next marathon, and I am surely be part of it again.

Celtics are the NBA Champions!

The Boston Celtics are now the new NBA World Champions after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in a 39-point victory in Game 6 (4-2) and having the 17th title for the Boston Celtics. Still the having the most of all time in NBA franchise history.

With the Big Three contributing to this fantastic victory. Paul Pierce was named the Finals Most Valuable with a 17 points 3 rebounds and 10 Assists. Kevin Garnett 26 points 14 rebounds and 4 Assists. And Ray Allen 26 points 4 rebounds and 2 Assists.

Doc Rivers had his 1st NBA Title. And Kevin Garnett has his 1st NBA Title after 10 years. And Paul Pierce has his NBA Finals MVP and Title.

The Notable TRios (Pierce, Garnett, Allen) indeed, their first time to become teammates and winning their first NBA Championship.

Game 6 Celtics-Lakers

This will be the last day of the NBA Finals as predicted it.

With Ray Allen on the game and Kendrick Perkins the Boston Club will emerge as the victors of this hell of a war.

Game 5 was too close to call as if in the political arena..Because there is no clear victory for the Kobe team for it is only a 5 point game lead for the Lakers. And the ending of the tragic game for the Celtics is that it came up with a turnover of the Captain Truth Pierce.

But to think that game is for the Celtics they have a counter maneuver against the triangle offense of Phil Jackson and they break the presses applied by the Lakers. The Celtics against not only Kobe and the Lakers supporting cast of Odom, Vuajicic, Radmanovic they are also against the Lake of Lakers' fans.

But now as the tide shifts to the Boston country. and the Celtic crowd will go wild as the ball will tip-off. Today will b e the end of this war..I predict that the Celtics will gain momentum until the 4th quarter. They will win with a 5-point lead against the Lakers....

As I predicted....

This will be for me a non-stop action inside the hard court. As soon as the ball has tipped off, expect the best from this teams.

From their lineups to their bench, a ticking bomb is waiting for its time to explode. As their coaches watching every night dvds and previous games trying to make a plan that determines each team's weakness.

Doc Rivers against Phil Jackson...Hmmmm...interesting math up. But what about...Kobe and Pierce...Garnett and Gasol.....Allen and Fisher....

I can't wait for the game 1 to start....

Spurs ties the series 3-3

The San Antonio Spurs had even the playoff series with 3 wins a piece against the New Orleans Hornets (99-80).

Today the defending NBA champions proved that they deserve a second chance to survive this pressure. Winning over the young Hornets headed by the triple threat of Chris Paul, Tyson Chandler, and David West. The Spurs pertaining the Big Three (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili) did not collapse in their "3rd quarter syndrome" as we saw in games 1,2, and 5.
That thing was horrible.

All we hope for is that the Spurs will continue this momentum and again will never be in the 3rd quarter late game collapse.

Go Spurs Go!

Dallas has a New Coach

The Dallas Mavericks has their new coach in the person of Rick Carlisle. He replaced former head coach Avery Johnson after being defeated in the 2008 playoff series against the New Orleans Hornets in the first round.

Rick Carlisle streesed that excellence through change and also stressing the importance of opening up the offense and giving it the preview of the development of the Mavericks this coming NBA season.

The coaching staff will definitely focus on its superstar guard Jason Kidd and forward Dirk Nowitzki as he says, "this is all about excellence"

In other news, the New York Knicks has also a new coach. The former head coach of the Phoenix Suns Mike D' Antoni after accepting the coaching job offer of 24 million dollars for 4 years thus, making him the new head coach of the Knicks this coming season.
